Expert review of Rafting on the River Cetina
Adventure sports enthusiasts should head for the Cetina Valley, a dramatic high-sided rocky canyon, which meets the sea at Omiš, 25km southeast of Split. Here the River Cetina flows over a series of light to moderate rapids, making it ideal for rafting. Active Holidays organise rafting trips lasting around three hours, with up to eight people sharing a raft under the guidance of an expert. The minimum age is seven years old, no special skills required, though participants should be in good health. A lifejacket, helmet and oars are supplied, plus neoprene dry suits when the water is very cold. Rafting trips conclude with a meal at Radmanove Mlinice, set in woodland next to the river. It’s also possible to try canyoning, canoeing and free climbing.
Expect to pay in the region of 200 kunas for a three-hour rafting trip.
