A hundred year old, wooden train that connects Palma to Sóller.
If you want to get out of Palma without renting a car this is the way to do it. First opened nearly one hundred years ago the little train chugs through almond orchards as you head out of Palma, along the Valley of Oranges and over the hills to Sóller. The first train leaves Palma at 8am in the morning and the last leaves Sóller at 6pm. The last train back can get horrendously busy, so you might want to time your exit for an earlier one. 17 euros return, 10 euros one-way.
Expert tips:
The company also runs a tram service to the Port de Sóller from the town. It costs 4 euros each way.
The almond blossom is at its most spectacular from late Jan, Feb through March.
