Expert review of Sailing from Hvar
To really experience the Adriatic up close, you should try sailing. Hvar Adenture, based in Hvar Town, arrange half-day and full-day sailing trips. Half-day trips take you around the nearby Pakleni islets, or across to the south coast of the Brač, both with time to swim. One-day trips head for Vis (Dalmatia’s most isolated inhabited island), with a light lunch included. If you really enjoy it, you might be inspired to take one of Hvar Adventure’s one-week sailing courses. The Beginner course covers basic sailing skills, sail aerodynamics, navigation, manoeuvring, and safety at sea, while the Advanced course focuses on regatta skills. Hvar Adventure's boats are kept moored up along the quay, in front of Hotel Park, and they also organise sea kayaking trips.
Expect to pay 420 kunas for a half-day sailing trip per person, or 720 kunas for a full-day. One-week sailing courses cost 5,537.70 kunas per person, including accommodation in a double room.
