Expert review of Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
World class modern art in a gorgeous seaside setting.
A 20-minute journey by train from the city centre, Louisiana is one of the world's best modern art museums/galleries. Set in lovely wooded grounds that roll down to the sea, the setting for the sculptures, installations and canvases here from the likes of Picasso, Giacommetti and Bacon is fantastic, both inside the modernist, low-rise galleries and in the turfed grounds. It's a great way to escape the city for a day and perhaps bring a picnic if the weather's good. There's also an activity and art room for youngsters too.
Price advice:
It's 95 krone for adults and free for children under 18.
Expert tips:
The arty café offers great views out to sea from its large terrace.
The kid's wing will keep young culture vultures occupied for an hour or two.
