Expert review of Sea Life Centre
Sidle up to sharks, turtles and rays in this upbeat attraction.
Claiming to be the oldest operating aquarium in the world (it first opened its doors in 1872), this centre still has its original, elegant vaulted architecture, but the displays have come a long way since Victorian times. Like every marine zoo worth its salt, it has a variety of tanks including one with a transparent tunnel you can walk through while the sharks cruise overhead. It also has a nifty new feature - a glass-bottomed boat which allows you to look straight down onto your new-found fishy friends from above.
Price advice:
Standard entrance is £15.50 for adults, £10.50 for children aged 3-14yrs.
Expert tips:
Check the website before your visit for details of feeding times and talks.
By booking online, you save £5 on each ticket price.
