Expert review of Morton's of Chicago
Steak isn't what you'd automatically associate with Hong Kong cuisine, but you're missing out if you don't make room for at least one Morton's dinner while you're here.
Yes, there's lamb, and yes there's salmon, but it's cow that you come here for. There are very few farms in Hong Kong, so expect jet-fresh and premium quality steak, in all its many varied forms. There are gargantuan portions, as you probably know.
While the atmosphere is overwhelmingly formal, the emphasis - as it rightly should be - is on enjoying some really good food.
Manager Steve McCrimmon has been looking after Morton's for some time, and runs a tight ship. Staff certainly know their (steak and) onions.
Part of the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers, but under its own management, with classy views out over the harbour.
Allow HK$1,000 per head as a rule-of-tum.
Ask for a harbour view when you call to reserve; you can also eat up at the bar, but this is really only for snacking.
